Polizei Leutnant Gerd Baum, March 1939 - 1943

Photograph album of Gerd Baum, Polizei Leutnant who was engaged in the invasion of Poland in 1939. Included are images of field exercises between the Polizei and Wehrmacht on the Polish border in August 1939, several images of Gerd Baum in his White Damask Summer M36 Officers Tunic (August 1939). Also included are photographs of his brother SS-Untersturmführer Wilhelm Baum. Leutnant Gerd Baum later moved from the Ordnungspolizei to the Wehrmacht and was awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class and wound badge in black 1942 while deployed on the Russian front. Locations include Mayrhofen, Gemeinde Finkenberg, (Austria), Poland, Belgium and Markkleeberg & Oberwiesenthal, Germany. Timeframe of these images are March 1939 - 1943. Another notable inclusion is the Opera singer Hans Fleischer (Mime from Wagner's Siegfried) & Edith /Eva Fleischer who were both family friends.
